You may already do this but I have to admit, I hadn't thought of this great idea.
Lisa of North Dakota is going to knit the Allegan Sweater in Clara Parkes book, The Knitter's Book of Wool. She found a hat pattern on Ravelry that uses the same Farrow Rib as does the sweater and used that pattern for her swatch.
Cute hat design and now a useful swatch. It is knit in our Lilac Heather. Thanks Lisa for the great idea.

I've been making rectangles of the same size out of my roving swatches. I plan on piecing them all together to make a handspun quilt displaying all the creations from my farm.
The hat is a great idea too. I found an adorable pattern on knitty.com that uses all the leftover handspun yarn too to make an adorable slouch hat. That's my next project after I finish 10 other projects in queue. Oh, you know that one will jump to the top.
Cute display with the gumball machine too.
The quilt is a great idea, too. Definitely an heirloom kind of telling a story about your farm. Hope you piece some of it together to share, you can add as you spin/knit.
